It is time once again to hand out the Success in the City Pink Flamingo of Fame recognition to those who have stood out in the crowd and created an event that will go down in infamy.
Please join me in giving a standing ovation and round of applause to Vesna Cottrell and Sheri Sylvester who made our very first Cherioke – SITC Bobby de Lorenzi Foundation fund raiser an over-the-top, you had-to-be there huge success. Vesna served as the Master of Ceremonies and kept the crowd whooping and hollering. Sheri managed registration and the flood of attendees. We also applaud and thank our Charioke sponsors EagleBank and Jenny Shtipelman and Rosemary McDowell of Contract & Proposal Management Solutions LLC.
Barbara Rorer, Tracey Oskey, Judy Bradt and other volunteers made for a seamless event and kept the crowd at bay. The crowd was screaming for more and we have received requests to do it again and again.
Not naming names here, but a number of SITC’s Board (Donna Wilson, Caroline Alexander, Jenny Shtipelman, Tracey Oskey, Barbara Rorer and even the Diva) were called on stage to sing “I Kissed A Girl”. Needless to say it brought the house down.
A very special thanks goes to Jim Goodridge and Bill Folsom of JPG Photo Events for serving as our paparazzi If you don’t believe us you can see the pictures and proof here: http://web.me.com/jgoodridge1/charioke/Success_at_Velocity.html
