Founded in 1992, Suited for Change provides professional clothing and ongoing career and life skills education to low-income women to increase their employment and job retention potential and contribute to their economic independence.

Sharon Flynn, the Executive Director of Suited for Change let us know that she is busier than ever. Their client show rate has increased from 40 percent in January to 60 percent this July and clothing donations are at an all-time high.

To meet this growing need, Suited for Change is moving to a new office space at the end of August. The location is still conveniently located in downtown Washington; next door to their current space. The new office better meets their needs and saves 30 percent annually on rent! At Success in the City we think that is savvy and smart business.

That’s the good news, the challenge is that the new office is empty and much work to transform it into a warm and inviting boutique. California Closest’s of Washington, DC has stepped up to the fashion runway and created a beautiful design to accomplish this and has generously given an in-kind donation of $5,000. Suited for Change must match this amount to cover the full cost of the renovation! Can you help Suited for Change reach this goal? Any amount, $5, $10, $100 or more can help!
August 19th is the deadline. Suited for Change must let California Closests know if they can proceed with the creation of their new, cost-effective showroom.

Please donate today.

For twenty years, Suited for Change has been the only local organization in the Washington area that offers free professional clothing and job readiness skills to women who are returning to the workforce.

Your investment helps women makes incredible strides towards achieving financial independence. Donate now to make a difference in their lives.

And while you are at it, as you begin to prepare for your Fall and Winter wardrobe set aside those fashionable items, including accessories and shoes (especially size 9) the you know you are ready to part with and donate them to Suited for Change!
