This year marks the 25th anniversary program and we want to make sure we get a great showing from the women of Greater Washington.

About EOY
The role of the entrepreneur has never been more vital than it is today. Economies around the world are fueled by the vision and innovation of entrepreneurial businesses. The 25th anniversary of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year® Program is a fitting time to celebrate the achievements of the best and brightest men and women in business. Our belief — that a community of entrepreneurs is a powerful force that can transform economies, address large, complex problems, drive innovation and improve our communities — has been proven true year after year. As we embark on the silver anniversary of this celebration of innovation, we do so in the company of over 8,000 previous entrepreneur winners. Entrepreneurial leaders and visionaries not only create and build market-leading businesses, they also help take business excellence to new heights, change the face of industries, create jobs and contribute to the vibrancy of communities. We invite you to be part of the exciting 25th anniversary of the Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year Program.

Criteria
The Ernst & Young Entrepreneur Of The Year awards recognize the men and women who put everything on the line in order to translate an idea into a viable, sustainable enterprise. Successful entrepreneurs, whether company founders or current leaders, take business excellence to new heights, change the face of industries, and create jobs, products and services that contribute to the vibrancy of our community. Nominees must:

  • be active members of top management and primarily responsible for the recent performance of a public or private company, or a subsidiary/division.
  • have served in a leadership role at the company for the past three years.
  • While EOY has recognized pre-revenue biotech companies, generally revenues above $20M are most competitive.
  • For female owned companies under this threshold and less than 10 years old I’d strongly recommend EY’s Entrepreneurial Winning Women program – more here: www.ey.com/us/entrepreneurialwinningwomen

Nominations
To participate, please complete the online nomination form (available at https://eoy-nomination.ey.com) by March 18 at 5:00 pm EST. It will ask you to create a user ID and password, as the information we request is confidential. Self nominations are encouraged! All nominations will then be reviewed by an independent panel of judges, who will select and interview regional finalists. Award winners will be announced at regional awards galas in June and then are considered for the Entrepreneur Of The Year National awards program presented in Palm Springs, California, in November and hosted by Jay Leno.
